Job Title: Controls Engineering Manager

Orion Talent is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for specifying, designing, programming, and testing automation and control systems.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role on automation and controls projects, including commissioning and startup. You will be responsible for developing new customer relationships and expanding current relationships. Your duties will include visiting job sites to evaluate projects and define scope, developing and supporting proposal development, and leading projects from conception through commissioning and startup.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Specify, design, program, and test automation and control systems
  • Develop and support proposal development according to scope definition
  • Lead projects from conception through commissioning and startup
  • Lead a team of engineers to execute scope within budget and delivery commitments
  • Visit job sites to do and support commissioning and startup activities
  • Support techs in the field, including providing progress reports, meetings, and punchlists
  • Review vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications
  • Read, understand, and translate P&ID's and electrical drawings into a DCS/PLC/HMI application
  • Interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, engineers, and management
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and controls, with experience in specifying, designing, programming, and testing automation and control systems. You will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team of engineers and interact with customers and vendors.
