Position Overview:
This role involves representing both domestic and international insurance providers in relation to director and officer liability and other advanced professional lines insurance products.

The ideal candidate may not possess prior specific experience but should demonstrate intelligence, exceptional writing skills, and a strong capacity for learning. Successful team members often come from diverse backgrounds, including commercial litigation, corporate law, private practice, or public service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing third-party insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, and advising insurance clients on coverage matters;
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and relevant parties;
  • Monitoring and assessing claims, including securities class actions and other litigation involving insured parties;
  • Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis, and preparing legal memoranda;
  • Occasionally assisting in federal and state litigation, including actions initiated by insurer clients and defending against claims from policyholders;
  • Participating in mediations as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed to practice in Ohio (or plans to obtain licensure);
  • Strong academic background;
  • Outstanding legal writing and communication abilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to ownership of tasks;
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments effectively.
