We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Uplift Luna Preparatory. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nightly custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning restrooms
- Remove trash and waste and place it into a dumpster or trash compactor
- Maintain campus buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment by performing regular cleaning and maintenance
- Assist with cafeteria dining area set up, including arranging tables and chairs for morning use
- Perform light maintenance tasks, such as unclogging toilets and drains, and fixing restroom partitions
- Perform non-routine cleaning tasks, such as cleaning waste receptacles, washing windows, and pressure washing the building exterior
- Deep clean tile, grout, carpet, LVT, VCT, and other flooring
- Perform deep cleaning duties that require the use of a ladder or other lifting equipment
- Notify school administration of any needed major repairs or equipment failure
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage, supply, and maintenance areas
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the janitorial service industry or 2 years' experience in building maintenance
- Experience working in a school environment preferred but not required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical instructions
- Ability to respond to and resolve common complaints
- Ability to effectively present information to campus and central office management
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively

The noise level is moderate and may have frequent interruptions.
Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school(s) and construction site, continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying.
Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, vibrations, temperature, and noise extremes, disease, pathogenic substances, and toxic/poisonous agents.
There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature.
