The George Washington University Department of Athletics is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our Sports Medicine staff, you will be responsible for providing top-notch medical care and support to our student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide preventive medical care and treatment/rehabilitation for assigned student-athletes and teams, serving as a liaison between the student-athlete, coach, medical care providers, and team physician(s).
- Manage individual, team, and department medical records/histories, including injury reports, treatment plans, and rehabilitation progress.
- Collaborate with the Strength and Conditioning department to ensure student-athletes receive optimal physical conditioning and weight training programs.
- Assist in providing mentorship to graduate student-certified athletic trainers as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with University, Department, NCAA, and Atlantic 10 rules and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study.
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATABOC).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Licensure in or meeting requirements for Athletic Trainer licensure in Washington DC.
- Athletic training experience at the collegiate level.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish effective goal-oriented relationships with coaches, staff, student-athletes, and medical community.
This position will be based at GW's Foggy Bottom or Mount Vernon campus in Washington, DC, with significant domestic travel required for games and events.
