Are you passionate about significantly improving the future of medicine? At AmplifyBio, we are committed to growing and empowering an inclusive community within our company and industry.
We believe that people are the most important asset of any organization, which is why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of the best and brightest from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives across our organization. As a leading contract research organization with a comprehensive range of services, we span from being an outsourcing partner for discovery stage R&D work, a preclinical CRO performing safety efficacy and toxicology studies for small molecules and advanced therapies alike, and, most recently, an expansion into manufacturing services for cell, gene, and mRNA-based therapeutics.
The AmplifyBio ecosystem is comprised of three distinct business units: ADOC (South San Francisco, CA) Amplify's Discovery, Optimization, and Characterization laboratories: ASET (West Jefferson, OH) Amplify's Safety, Efficacy, and Toxicology Site; and the most recently opened AMEC (New Albany, OH) Amplify's Manufacturing Enablement Center.
About ASET West Jefferson, OH: Our safety, efficacy, and toxicology unit (ASET) was launched as a preclinical CRO that spun out of Battelle in 2021 to address the changing needs of commercial organizations developing modern therapeutics. We bring decades of experience to accommodate a wide variety of GLP and non-GLP studies in all in vivo models and dose routes. Among the investments that we have made to empower preclinical assessments of advanced therapies is building a new state-of-the-art analytical laboratory to include molecular and immunological assays that assess critical safety and efficacy indicators for cell and gene therapies during preclinical studies
We are seeking to hire a Clinical Pathology Technician to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for routine automated and manual procedures in the areas of hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, and parasitology in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). The individual may also perform several other procedures, including but not limited to clinical pathology sample preparation, necropsy, tissue trimming, embedding, staining, microtomy, quality control, and tissue/slide inventory.
This position will join a staff of highly trained scientists and technicians, and state of the art facilities to support our clients' toxicology, safety pharmacology, and inhalation research programs. We are rapidly expanding our service offerings related to the discovery, translation, and development of advanced therapies such as gene and cell therapies. As part of our team, the right candidate will help support our growing portfolio of service offerings and commercial capabilities.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an emerging startup bringing innovative technology to advanced therapies. You will work closely with our team to understand and follow relevant Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Study Protocol requirements regarding all laboratory activities assigned and/or engaged in.
You will use proper record keeping documenting work activities, develop a good working knowledge of laboratory equipment and experimental procedures, and apply this knowledge in the performance of assigned laboratory tasks. You will conduct standard as well as non-standard tasks under the close supervision and guidance of more experienced staff, respond appropriately to various alarms and potential emergency situations, adhere to chemical agent, facility, and bio-facility safety requirements, read assigned SOPs promptly to remain in compliance with our policies and regulations, and follow health and safety requirements that are posted or within relevant SOPs.
You will be willing to continue to learn new tasks to expand your knowledge as opportunities present, and may assist in other related areas to include histology, cage wash, chemistry, off site pathology (BBRC) based on needs and skills. To succeed in this role, you will require a Bachelors degree in medical technology, MT (ASCP) or associate degree in medical technology, MLT (ASCP) or Clinical pathology laboratory experience.
You will demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented, organized, dedicated, multitask with ease, and work well in a team setting within a diverse group of individuals, work well with others and reliable and punctual, be innovative and able to work with little supervision, sufficiently medically fit to do work in a bio-containment lab wearing appropriate respiratory equipment and perform assigned duties, willing to work in a biosafety level 2 (BSL2) environment, and willing to work evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
We take the health and happiness of our employees seriously and consistently evaluate new ways to amp up our benefits to provide an amazing place to work. From a wellness program to financial planning and legal assistance, we make sure to take care of our own. We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Health, Dental, and Vision insurance that starts on your first day at AmplifyBio
- Competitive Compensation Package
- FLEXIBLE PTO policy
- Generous paid parental leave
- Wellness and Self-Care Programs
- 401(k) match
- Tuition Reimbursement
- EAP/work-life support system
This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to groundbreaking work while collaborating with our clients, research scientists, study directors, lab technicians, and specialists across a variety of disciplines. We value diversity and inclusivity, and welcome applications from candidates who share our commitment to these values. If you're excited about this opportunity, please submit your application.
