Medical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Maine Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory testing, working closely with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Independently perform and monitor laboratory testing of patient specimens, adhering to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Confirm, interpret, correlate, and report normal and abnormal patient results, providing accurate and timely information to healthcare professionals.
Recognize technical, instrumental, and/or physiological problems and initiate resolutions, ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory testing.
Assume responsibility for accuracy, quality control, and required instrument maintenance, upholding the highest standards of laboratory practice.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science required.
License/Certifications: Certification as a Medical Technologist (or equivalent) or as a categorical technologist (e.g., C, H, I, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT). Certification is required within 6 months of hire.
