Job Summary

The Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapist - Hybrid is a key member of our team, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of an assigned group of patients. This role requires strong leadership skills, as the individual must be able to accept responsibility in the absence of a Lead Therapist/Supervisor/Shift Resource.

Responsibilities
  • Perform airway maintenance, including manual resuscitators, suctioning, extubating, and tracheostomy tube insertion.
  • Administer respiratory therapies and oxygen delivery therapies, making recommendations for the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
  • Utilize patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and multidisciplinary team collaboration to determine the efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner.
  • Initiate, maintain, transport, and monitor mechanical ventilators, including conventional and advanced modes of ventilation per policy and procedure.
  • Practice standard precautions and enforce safety regulations according to hospital policies on a continual basis.
  • Document and charge for procedures accurately and completely to ensure quality standards set by the department and hospital.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
  • Active and Current Florida State License as Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Preferred).
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) (Preferred).
