The Opportunity:

As a key member of our Lab and Production Services team, you will work closely with our professionals to deliver exceptional support to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to provide customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: South San Francisco, CA

Shift: Day

Hourly Rate: $26.44/hr. - $29.80/hr.

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience) is required
  • Experience: 1-2 years equivalent experience in a laboratory setting and understanding of laboratory equipment and/or college degree
  • Excellent solid understanding of laboratory operations
  • Knowledgeable of biological and/or chemical processes
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills
  • Knowledge of sterile handling techniques a plus
  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities under close supervision.
  • Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations including media and buffer preparation, solvent and reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, and some physical testing.
  • Witness experiments conducted by senior staff members.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and labeling, ensuring accurate documentation of chemical reagents, glassware, and gas cylinder levels.
  • Verify and perform maintenance on laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meters, sonicators, and glassware washers to uphold operational standards.

Pay Transparency: The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $26.44/hr. - $29.80/hr. Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
