Position Overview

The Senior Credit Officer at The Ladders is tasked with implementing robust credit policies and practices that ensure a secure and well-managed credit portfolio. Collaborating with executive leadership, the Senior Credit Officer will define both short-term and long-term objectives that foster a diversified credit portfolio, aligning with the overarching strategies and mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing credit management team.
  • Formulate and enforce a comprehensive credit policy that supports the organization's growth, safety, and market objectives.
  • Oversee and enhance an effective underwriting, credit monitoring, and credit evaluation system.
  • Chair the credit committee, representing the organization's CEO and credit committee Chair.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations regarding the provision and management of commercial and consumer credit.
  • Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on critical strategic matters.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Safeguard the confidentiality and security of client and organizational information.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for managing problem credits.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management leaders to communicate essential information to stakeholders, including the Board of Directors and regulatory bodies.
  • Work closely with the Chief Lending Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operations Officer to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Engage in community outreach and relationship-building initiatives on behalf of the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably with 6 credit hours in accounting).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial credit management is preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Exceptional credit underwriting capabilities, particularly in commercial and real estate lending.
  • Strong proficiency in technology and digital tools.
  • Ability to convey information effectively across various platforms.
  • Outstanding leadership and team-building skills.
  • Capacity to collaborate and foster professional relationships.
