Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and prepare work by collecting and sorting relevant documents and information.
  • Process invoices by confirming transaction details; scheduling and preparing payments; securing payment authorization.
  • Generate revenue by validating transaction details; calculating charges and refunds; preparing and dispatching invoices; identifying overdue accounts and insufficient payments.
  • Collect outstanding payments by reminding clients of overdue accounts; informing customers of payment shortfalls.
  • Compile financial reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing account data and trends.
  • Maintain accounting records by posting transactions to ledgers.
  • Verify account accuracy by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Resolve discrepancies by reviewing documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure financial security by adhering to internal accounting protocols.
  • Protect financial data by performing database backups.
  • Preserve historical financial records by organizing and filing accounting documents.
  • Support team objectives by achieving related results as required.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree is required, along with 1-5 years of experience in public accounting or the industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential. Skills in Administrative Writing, Organization, Data Entry, General Mathematics, Financial Software, Information Analysis, Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, and Verbal Communication are highly valued.

Certifications

CPA or CPA candidate status is preferred.
