Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Ethos Cannabis is a multi-state cannabis company with operations in the cultivation, processing, and dispensing of cannabis in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Ohio. Our goal is to have a clear and compelling consumer-centric vision focused on helping individuals feel and live better through their experiences with cannabis.

We are seeking a highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist with a strong analytical mind and excellent interpersonal skills to support our growing business. This attentive professional will have an eye for detail and be especially dynamic at representing the payable function across all aspects of the company, supporting the accounting operations of the Company's various operations, as well as the holding company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Accounts Payable Manager with the account payables operations, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, vendor relationships, and policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile all vendors statements for assigned vendors, ensuring vendor accounts are kept current to our best ability.
  • Prepare and maintain all Accounts Payable files, ensuring reports are accurate and have proper supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for PO Invoice processing, including 3-way and 2-way invoice matching.
  • Responsible for Non-PO Invoice processing and Payment Requests processing.
  • Acts as liaison between the Payable Department and other functional areas.
  • Answers all vendor inquiries and responds to vendor-related concerns timely.
  • Participates in the Month-End Close process by reviewing Trial Balances.
  • Prepares analyses of accounts, as required.
  • Ensure that Payables are disbursed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist with audits as necessary.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Understand sales tax rules and apply to invoices; comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings for various state jurisdictions.
  • Assist in other accounting projects, as necessary.
  • Work with the accounting and finance teams to identify and resolve issues.
Requirements:
  • Some college preferred, in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent business experience and progressively responsible experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in accounting/finance, Accounts Payable preferred.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas is preferred.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable, general ledger accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, and reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties.
Capabilities and Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of computer and office equipment and programs; proficiency in computer usage including accounting software, MS Office applications (MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Concur and Dynamics 365 highly desired.
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize.
  • Ability to focus; attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with absolute reliability and honesty; high level of integrity, and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties, clearly and calmly.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Other Requirements:
  • Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching is possible.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for a distance of 50 feet.
  • Must pass stringent background test requirements of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Possess valid driver's license or state ID card; authorized to work in the U.S.
