Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth, ensuring operational standards are met, and creating a positive work environment. This leadership position involves coaching and developing store team members to achieve peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and promoting a culture of teamwork.
- Create a safe and inclusive store environment that fosters employee engagement and productivity.
- Assist the store manager in scheduling team members, ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak periods.
- In the absence of the store manager, take charge of the store's operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team member skills and knowledge.
- Maintain open communication channels with all stakeholders, including district managers and employees.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities.
- Knowledge of the grocery industry, preferably with 1-2 years of experience.
- Detailed focus on maintaining the highest standards across all store departments.
- Financial management skills to optimize store performance.
- Familiarity with state and federal labor laws.
- Ability to delegate tasks efficiently and create a collaborative atmosphere.
- Physical stamina to perform regular lifting tasks (up to 50 lbs).
