Position Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to guarantee that all culinary items departing the kitchen meet the high standards of Slater's 50/50 in terms of quality and promptness.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate communication with the kitchen staff to synchronize food service, particularly regarding timing, quality, and presentation of dishes.
  • Ensure the work station is well-stocked and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Adhere to proper food storage and safety protocols, including maintaining appropriate holding temperatures and cleanliness on the expo line.
  • Keep kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly state.
  • Transport supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, utilizing hand trucks when necessary.
  • Conduct regular checks of the expo line and manage waste disposal as needed.
  • Restock essential items such as sauces, utensils, and plates to facilitate the efficient expediting of food.
  • Address any issues related to food quality or timing with the line and prep teams, management, and executive teams. Assist with line stations or prep as trained to ensure a seamless shift.
  • Comply with all safety standards, ensuring food is sold and garnished correctly while coaching the line team on plating standards.
  • Follow established food safety and sanitation policies, ensuring the line team adheres to these standards as well.
  • Record clock-in and clock-out times as required and take breaks in accordance with policy.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with all Slater's 50/50 policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Report to the General Manager, Kitchen Manager, and other supervisors as directed.
  • Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and meet the expected standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possess adequate skills and experience to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Hold a valid food handler's card.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods, walking, and standing throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding recipes.
  • Comprehend and adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Able to lift and carry racks or stacks of dishes, glassware, and other utensils weighing up to 50 lbs., multiple times per shift.
  • Capable of lifting and emptying trashcans weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance, several times per shift.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and lifting required.
  • Ability to work in the designated Slater's 50/50 environment.
  • Awareness of potential hazards, including cuts from broken glass and metal cans, burns, and slipping or tripping risks.
  • Regular handwashing is necessary.
