Job Description

Welcome to Gordon Food Service, where we're committed to excellence in food service and customer satisfaction. We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities and Maintenance Director to join our team.

Job Summary:

  • Direct the safe, cost-effective, and efficient operations of Gordon Restaurant Market Mixing Center and Restaurant Market building maintenance.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance of applicable mechanical and electrical systems, building conditions, mobile equipment, ASRS, hydraulic and refrigeration systems.
  • Maintain and develop a group of 3rd party contractors to support ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with management and other department heads to plan preventive maintenance programs and schedule inspections and major overhauls in coordination with other operational activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) Standards and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the repair of machinery and electrical or plumbing systems.
  • Review inspection and repair reports and observe the progress of work on major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and work quality.
  • Monitor and direct the repair of machinery and electrical or plumbing systems.
  • Review spreadsheets related to maintenance (energy tracking, recycling, metrics, and action incentive, etc.).
  • Collaborate with other Warehouse & store Leaders to achieve goals and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Work together with other warehouse leaders to achieve company-required food safety standards.
  • Attend 3rd party audits (AIB, PHA, Mechanical Integrity, and Compliance).
  • Manage mixing center & store projects; acquiring bids, scheduling contractors, project timelines, and submitting the necessary paperwork.
  • Review technical papers, catalogs, GFS Standards, and other resources to determine supplies and maintenance methods to improve warehouse operations.
  • Develop and manage fixed labor budgets, utility budgets, repair expenses, and building budgets.
  • Develop and manage capital projects.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with GFSI food safety standards and expectations.
