Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Aide- Evening to join our team at Hudson Regional Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nurses with various duties, including placing specialty mattresses, performing glucose testing, and recording results accurately and timely.
- Participate in our Falls Prevention Program and identify patients at risk for falls.
- Practice wound prevention protocol, maintain Universal Precautions, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform and record patient weight, blood pressure, temperature, oxygen saturation, and pulse in a timely manner.
- Administer complete/partial baths, oral care, denture care, hair care, foley care, shaving, and bed making skills.
- Assist with toileting needs, transport patients via wheelchair and/or stretcher, and answer phone calls promptly and courteously.
- Collect specimens, including urine, sputum, and stool, and ensure proper labeling and disposal.
- Position patients, use the LYCO lift, transfer patients from bed to chair, and lift patients properly to prevent personal injury.
- Perform EKGs and document results, report abnormal findings to the nurse assigned or charge nurse, and perform hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met.
- Manage supplies, adhere to standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies, and identify the needs of the patient population served.
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- 6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting
- BLS - AHA approved
