About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Program Manager to join our team at MP. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing safety initiatives across our geographic region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic direction and leadership to operations teams in the development, implementation, and administration of safety policies and training programs.
  • Safety Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that safety regulatory requirements are understood and program compliance is achieved. Communicate information regarding proposed regulations, policies, goal setting, accident investigations, and accident trends.
  • Initiative Development and Implementation: Work with operations personnel to design and implement initiatives to improve safety performance, reduce workforce injuries and illnesses, and maximize regulatory compliance.
  • Program Development and Evaluation: Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of safety programs that meet business needs and regulatory requirements, in consultation with the Safety Director.
  • Regulatory Monitoring and Compliance: Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local safety and health rules and other regulations. Recommend, author, and communicate training, safety, and health guidelines based on those rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of field safety experience.
  • Education: BS degree in Safety or Health-related field desired.
  • Certifications: CUSP safety certification a plus.
  • Skills: Knowledge of Workers Compensation and General Liability claim processes, ability to communicate technical information to field personnel and executive management, and demonstrated ability to review contractors' health and safety plans.
  • Personal Qualities: Highly motivated, self-starter, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, and technical efficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent travel to work sites.
  • The main physical demands of this job include sitting at a desk/computer for long periods of time and focusing on a computer screen for several hours at a time.
Compensation

$70,000 - $90,000 per year.
