Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Safety Consultant to join our team at Alliant Insurance Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety and risk management, with experience in construction and a proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive technical risk assessment services and loss control training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate risk engineering and loss control solutions for a wide range of customers
  • Identify and analyze critical issues and implement or recommend solutions using a holistic, multi-disciplinary risk management platform philosophy
  • Design and draft complex loss control and site-specific safety plans for large, complex construction projects
  • Develop and implement comprehensive technical risk assessment services and loss control training programs
  • Assist in the marketing, coordination, and delivery of risk control services to clients and prospects
  • Conduct field visits with carrier reps on behalf of existing and prospective clients
  • Consult and advise others regarding federal and state safety compliance regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, JCAHO, enforcement, data, and statistics, and training
  • Utilize interdisciplinary knowledge of coverage, claims, and safety to articulate, consult, and recommend solutions and plans to top-level management to influence positive results
  • Coordinate cross-functional relationships with account executives, producers, claims managers, wrap-up teams, and external insurance carrier loss control representatives and industry or trade association representatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or a physical science (bio/chem/phys/math) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eight or more years of related work experience, including five or more years in construction
  • CSP and/or professional safety designation or must obtain certification within 90 days preferred
  • Experience working for a general contractor or subcontractor with a title of safety manager or safety director preferred
  • Superior written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation capabilities
  • Ability to coordinate efforts involving individuals from different geographic areas as well as external partners
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate technical/tactical plans into strategic plans for customer use
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Office, Excel, and other critical safety-related software
