Geography Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach courses in Geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geography and GIS, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in Geography and GIS, including introductory and advanced courses
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental and college goals
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, including committee work and professional development
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and technologies
- Master's degree in Geography or a related field
- OR Bachelor's degree in Geography and Master's degree in Geology, History, Meteorology, or Oceanography
- OR Master's degree in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate coursework in at least one other constituent discipline
- OR Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units
- Experience teaching courses in Geography and GIS
- Strong background in GIS software and technologies
- Ability to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental and college goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
