As a Strategic Project Lead at Mercor, you will drive the tactical execution of our projects, collaborating closely with our US-based Engagement Managers to ensure exceptional service and delivery within the life cycle of engagements with our customers. Many of our clients use our platform to find domain experts to build datasets for training and evaluating AI models.
Role's Mission Statement: A Strategic Project Lead at Mercor will drive our company's exponential growth by orchestrating complex projects, often involving the creation of intricate human data pipelines, by blending strategic vision with tactical execution.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate closely with Engagement Managers and the wider Operations team (Technical Project Managers, Operations Associates) to execute project strategies and meet client objectives
- Design and implement robust processes for large-scale human data pipelines, including:
- Design and implement scalable management structures that optimize workflow and resource allocation
- Develop comprehensive review processes that ensure data integrity and project alignment with client objectives, overseeing quality assurance (QA) protocols
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to streamline data collection, processing, and analysis workflows
- Establish clear communication channels and feedback loops within the data pipeline ecosystem
- Manage key financial aspects of data pipeline projects, including:
- Implementing robust systems for tracking and validating contractor hours, ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Conducting real-time analysis of invoice amounts against deal-specific margins to optimize revenue
- Creating insightful financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making
- Foster strong client relationships with our Engagement Managers, anticipating client needs and identifying opportunities for project expansion
- Drive operational excellence on the Operations team through identifying process optimizations
- 1-3+ years of work experience in a generalist capacity, such as strategy & operations roles, management consulting, finance, or startups
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical domains, with growing understanding in AI/ML concepts (e.g., large language models)
- Experience managing complex, technical projects with multiple stakeholders
