Job Title: Design Analyst

Job Overview:

Zillion Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced XD (Experience Design) Tools Consultant to lead an initiative to evaluate, rationalize, and optimize the current XD toolset. This role will involve gathering and consolidating requirements, conducting gap analysis, and developing an executable roadmap for the future management and usage of these tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Management:
    • Develop a comprehensive project plan, including stakeholder management, governance, and timeline.
    • Ensure alignment with business objectives and efficient delivery of outcomes.
  • Requirements Gathering & Prioritization:
    • Gather existing business and technical requirements from various sources.
    • Establish a framework to validate, consolidate, and prioritize requirements with stakeholders across different lines of business.
    • Identify and capture any new requirements from XD associates.
  • Requirements Registry Creation:
    • Develop and maintain a single source of truth for all requirements, including comparative information and competitive analysis of other tools/vendors.
    • Ensure the registry provides ongoing insight into capability gaps and tool effectiveness.
  • Tools Evaluation & Gap Analysis:
    • Conduct an evaluation of the current XD toolset, including Airtable, Figma, Usertesting, Optimal Workshop, Dscout, and Alida, against business requirements.
    • Compare existing tools with market competitors to identify capability gaps and opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop a tool scoring mechanism based on factors such as functionality, security, ease of use, and cost.
  • Product Roadmap Development:
    • For each capability category, develop a product roadmap that addresses gaps, removes redundancy, and increases cost efficiency.
  • Jobs to Be Done (JTBD) Analysis:
    • Utilize a JTBD framework to shift from a tool-focused to an activity-focused mindset.
    • Identify key jobs and activities that designers and researchers aim to achieve.
    • Determine the demand for specific tools and evaluate customer pain points and effort scores.
    • Ensure underserved customers are addressed with optimized tools.
  • Cost Efficiency & Redundancy Elimination:
    • Identify and eliminate redundant tools to streamline XD operations and drive cost efficiency.
    • Ensure a rationalized, cost-effective toolset that meets evolving business needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Training:
    • Improve communication and training on existing tools and introduce processes for new/enhanced tools.
    • Ensure smooth transitions for tool updates and new tool rollouts with proper support and user adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in XD Tools or Operations: Strong familiarity with design and research tools such as Airtable, Figma, Usertesting, Optimal Workshop, Dscout, and Alida.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to plan, manage, and deliver complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering: Demonstrated experience in gathering, validating, and prioritizing technical and business requirements from multiple stakeholders.
  • Tool Evaluation & Vendor Management: Experience evaluating third-party tools, performing gap analysis, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Process Improvement: Strong skills in process design and implementation to optimize workflows and consolidate tool management.
  • Cost Analysis & Budget Management: Ability to analyze costs and recommend strategies to reduce redundancy and improve cost efficiency.
  • Communication & Training: Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders and deliver training on new and existing tools.
