About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Roadway Engineer to lead roadway design on a variety of transportation improvement projects and expand our growing transportation practice in South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
  • Work closely with project managers to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Leverage technical knowledge, experience, and client relationships to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
  • Mentor, train, and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience using MicroStation and GeoPAK to deliver roadway design projects.
  • Experience utilizing corridor modeling software to create 3D models and designs.
  • Geometric design experience of rural and urban roadways, including interchanges, roundabouts, and complex intersection design.
  • Ability to coordinate with other design disciplines.
  • Ability to coordinate project execution and control on roadway design projects to achieve continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through final design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SCDOT Project Experience.
  • MicroStation and GeoPAK Experience.
  • SC Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
