Job Summary


JTEKT Corporation is seeking a talented Manufacturing Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in driving process improvements and ensuring the smooth execution of new and modified programs.



About the Role


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and a passion for continuous improvement. You will be responsible for providing technical support to our production team, designing and executing trials to reduce costs, and recommending effective set-up and maintenance procedures.



Key Responsibilities



  1. Design and execute trials to reduce costs, including scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, and short stop reduction.
  2. Support Maintenance and Manufacturing teams as required on breakdowns, startups, and set-ups.
  3. Recommend and assist in creating effective set-up and maintenance procedures.
  4. Investigate and formulate actions to mitigate non-conforming product flow-out issues.
  5. Participate in new program manufacturing planning reviews.
  6. Plan and execute process development trials to achieve initial process capabilities.
  7. Support manufacturing improvement and Kaizen teams.
  8. Work daily/weekend overtime when directed by immediate supervisor or as necessary to complete essential job duties.


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  1. Proficiency in multiple types of CNC controls, tooling geometry, machine tool processes, and fixture design.
  2. Proficiency with automated, semi-automated, and manual automotive assembly equipment and cell design.
  3. A strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical circuits and controls.
  4. Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
  5. Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  6. PLC programming experience and robot programming experience desired.


Education and Experience


We are looking for a candidate with a BS in Engineering (ME or EE preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in metal removal and/or close tolerance assembly manufacturing.


The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and a passion for continuous improvement.



Salary and Benefits


The salary for this position is estimated to be around $85,000 per year, based on the location in Knoxville, TN, USA. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
