Shriners Children's St. Louis is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to join our team of professionals devoted to enhancing the lives of children. Our leading healthcare experts excel in their fields and provide compassionate, family-centered care to those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for planning, establishing, and maintaining a work environment that aligns with the objectives of Shriners Children's. Key duties include:
- Overseeing maintenance and repairs of the hospital's infrastructure and utility systems.
- Assisting in facility planning, design, and construction projects.
- Providing technical expertise and consultative services regarding building systems and infrastructure.
- Leading the team, fostering staff relationships, and promoting a productive and professional workplace.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations, including TJC, NFPA, ADA, OSHA, and local codes.
- Managing Life Safety and Environment of Care standards.
The role requires a high degree of independence while adhering to established procedures, manufacturer specifications, and accreditation requirements. Responsibilities also include:
- Completing work orders promptly, typically within a 24-hour timeframe.
- Ensuring all building equipment and machinery are operational and well-maintained.
- Implementing a thorough preventive maintenance program.
- Conducting annual safety checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Serving as the Chief Safety Officer and participating in safety and risk management meetings.
- Providing safety orientation for new employees and documenting their training.
- Reporting weekly activities and planning for upcoming tasks.
- Maintaining the exterior grounds and parking facilities.
- Identifying and recommending solutions for potential operational issues.
Managerial Guidance:
Providing operational support and direction to the unit/department while ensuring that operating expenses remain within approved budgetary guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline is preferred, or equivalent experience in a closely related field.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Plant Operations is required.
Leadership:
At least 3 years of leadership experience is necessary.
