About the PositionWe are seeking a creative, dynamic, and highly motivated Director of Advancement to spearhead our $45 million fundraising campaign. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and lead all aspects of our campaign efforts, building robust relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring the successful realization of our goals.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a strategic annual fundraising plan with diverse revenue streams from individuals, foundations, corporations, and planned giving
- Securing major gifts for both campaign support and annual giving
- Building a robust pipeline of board prospects and donors at all points of the donor experience cycle
- Supervising the institutional giving strategy, including grant proposals and reports
- Overseeing the fundraising event strategy to cultivate and engage donors and supporters
Qualifications include:
- A minimum of 10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with demonstrated job advancement
- A deep understanding of and connections to the arts and culture philanthropic community in New York City and nationally
- Experience fundraising for a major capital campaign
- A proven track record of setting, achieving, and exceeding fundraising goals
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate to Board members, patrons, artists, and fellow Symphony Space staff members
We offer a competitive salary of $175,000-$200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as a benefits package that includes health insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, flexible spending plan, annuity plan, and three weeks of vacation time.
