Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Adventist Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Portland, Oregon.

About the Role

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical department. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing support during procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for surgery by verifying consent forms, bringing patients to the operating room, and passing instruments to the surgeon.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs for additional supplies and perform appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before incision closure.
  • Check and prepare supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures, and assist in setting up the sterile table.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and assist in prepping the room for the next patient.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology.
  • Relevant acute care experience is preferred.
  • National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certified is preferred.
