About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Child Welfare Specialist to join our team at One Family Illinois (Formerly SOS Illinois). As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive case management services to One Family children, including assessment, referral, placement supervision, service plan formulation and implementation, and appropriate involvement with the One Family and biological families.
  • Act as a partner to Foster Parents in times of need, ensuring a healthy, safe, and secure home environment and consistency of care.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and current service reports on children and families served, including timely written case notes, six-month summaries, and permanency reports as required.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of client files and coordinate effectively with DCFS and other community agencies to address service goals.
  • Work in conjunction with the Child & Family Services Coordinator to develop a working knowledge of community resources and maintain a close working relationship with these resources.
  • Act as a Liaison to the Foster Parent Enrichment Coordinator and Child & Family Services Coordinator within the Spanish speaking communities to identify resources and foster parent recruitment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of child welfare principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be proficient in Spanish and English, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
