Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will lead and provide hands-on guidance to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products within a dynamic team environment. This role thrives in a fast-paced setting and requires adaptability to shifting priorities.

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate to mobilize and direct maintenance resources, maximizing the performance of production equipment to achieve plant KPIs, including safety, food safety, productivity, and quality metrics. This position will foster a culture of accountability and deliver exceptional service to the production team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical maintenance challenges.
  • Promote and oversee the skill development of maintenance technicians, focusing on both technical and leadership abilities.
  • Ensure safe working conditions for all associates and adherence to state and federal regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Manage and enhance plant maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Supervise employees engaged in facilities and grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Implement systems to guarantee that products are manufactured safely, hygienically, and efficiently.
  • Identify, initiate, and oversee capital improvement projects.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of the maintenance team and recommend training programs to address developmental needs.
  • Ensure an effective preventive maintenance program for the facility.
  • Administer and review all safety control and environmental protection programs.
  • Develop training initiatives for maintenance supervisors and mechanics.
  • Establish short and long-term planning, objectives, programs, goals, and manage departmental budgets and cost controls.
  • Order spare parts, tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance with blueprints, specifications, and other relevant standards.
  • Train and evaluate employees, conduct performance reviews, initiate disciplinary actions, recommend transfers or wage increases, and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Required Skills:

To succeed in this role, candidates must effectively perform each essential duty. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
  • Current knowledge of occupational health and safety (OSHA) standards, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), and other relevant regulations.
  • Understanding of the proper operation, routine maintenance, and repair of food manufacturing equipment and vehicles.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in facilities, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • May be required to operate motor vehicles and light trucks.
Education and Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with additional supervisory or management training preferred.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent formal trade school education.
  • Three to five years of experience in maintenance leadership roles.
Travel Requirements:

Travel will primarily be local during business hours.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily conducted in a standard office environment, with occasional outdoor tasks in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain or in garage structures that may be cooler or hotter than typical office settings. Noise levels are generally moderate (normal office) but can be high due to equipment operation and vehicle engines.
