Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Tenant Support Specialist to join our team at MHMR Tarrant. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with clients to build their self-efficacy and equip them with skills to sustain sobriety and recovery from addiction, trauma, mental health issues, and other concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual counseling, group therapy, screening, information, education, and referrals to High Priority housed clients.
  • Develop a treatment plan based on individual needs, working with clients and their housing case managers.
  • Assist clients in utilizing service providers, including transportation to appointments, role-playing, problem-solving, and being a source of encouragement and inspiration.
  • Collaborate with treatment or mental health provider staff to discuss client progress and develop a treatment plan.
  • Provide individual counseling and collaborate with clients and housing case managers to develop a treatment plan.
  • Facilitate groups on an as-needed basis in the absence of the primary facilitator.
  • Maintain a sense of connectedness to each client's growth and development, continually evaluating their progression and discussing accomplishments regularly.
  • Document specific actions clients are taking to progressively move through the stage of change and discuss those accomplishments regularly with the client.
  • Maintain regular and frequent communication with each client to reinforce connectedness.
  • Collect and prepare data for computer entry, evaluation, and reporting program measures.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager to effectively and efficiently achieve program measures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Human Services.
  • Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Pre-employment tests, including drug/alcohol and TB screening.
