As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of health and wellness programs that promote the physical and mental well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health and wellness programs that meet the needs of our students.
  • Supervise and manage the wellness department and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with local hospitals and wellness-related community resources to establish Memorandums of Understanding.
  • Compile and submit required reports and plans.
  • Manage the wellness budget and identify cost-saving measures.
  • Act as liaison with local agencies for purchasing health insurance and coordinating health services.
  • Evaluate student health issues and make referrals as appropriate.
  • Maintain and revise health care guidelines to ensure quality and effective wellness services.
  • Coordinate chronic condition case management programs.
  • Comply with local and federal guidelines for medication administration and medical records.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Work with the Safety and Security Department to complete and submit required incident reports.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Proactively manage medical separation processes and ensure students receive required medical services and referrals.
  • Ensure wellness department participation in the HEALs Committee and serve as wellness representative if needed.
  • Fills staff vacancies in a timely manner and motivates staff to perform job responsibilities.
  • Provides required training for new and current employees.
  • Motivates and manages staff to work effectively and creates a supportive work environment.
  • Mentors, monitors, and models Career Success Standards.
  • Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures quality is maintained and student needs are met.
  • Exchanges ideas and information in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas and identifies problems, analyzes causes, and evaluates solutions.
  • Works in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
  • Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager.
  • May not serve as both the Health and Wellness Director and the Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) instructor.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of an Associate of Arts degree in nursing.
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice in the state where the center is located.
  • Three years of health care experience, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity required.
  • Regional Approval required.
