ROLE OVERVIEW: As the Product Manager for the Open Education Resource (OER) Repository, you will oversee the development and management of a digital platform housing state-owned educational resources. This initiative aims to provide accessible instructional materials to educators, parents, and administrators, thereby improving foundational skills in reading and mathematics for students throughout Texas.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and communicate a compelling vision for the OER Repository, setting measurable objectives and tracking progress to demonstrate impact.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the entire lifecycle of the OER Repository, ensuring effective implementation of best practices in product development.
- Financial Stewardship: Oversee budgeting and contract management related to the OER Repository, ensuring quality deliverables.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with users and stakeholders to promote the OER Repository and advocate for their needs in product delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of five years of experience in digital product strategy or educational technology implementation.
• Advanced degrees may substitute for two years of experience.
• Must obtain Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification within the first six months of employment.
OTHER SKILLS:
• Strong belief in the potential of all Texas students to achieve success.
• Proven ability to define product visions based on thorough research and user feedback.
• Familiarity with best practices in product management and software development.
• Experience in agile methodologies and user-centered design.
• Excellent communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
