Overview:

The Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing and overseeing large-scale construction projects, focusing on infrastructure development.

Key Objectives:

  • Supervise heavy civil construction operations, including earthworks, structural components, concrete placement, and utility installations.
  • Lead a team of skilled tradespeople on complex construction assignments.
  • Promote a culture of safety, financial accountability, efficiency, and excellence.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a secure work environment and enforce stringent safety protocols.
  • Deliver construction projects within established timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Provide innovative solutions to construction-related issues and manage costs effectively.
  • Track project schedules and milestones, proactively addressing any obstacles.
  • Oversee workforce management, uphold company policies, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Facilitate clear communication with all stakeholders and collaborate closely with project management teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction in a supervisory role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Competent in basic computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic accounting, geometry, and algebra.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and navigate construction sites effectively.
