Job Title: Senior GIS Specialist and Engineer

Lynker Corporation is a leading provider of innovative solutions in weather and climate science. We are seeking a talented Senior GIS Specialist and Engineer to join our team in support of a long-term contract with NOAA.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform GIS system capabilities analysis, installation, testing, and validation of operational automation and communications software.
  • Develop, plan, and implement complex GIS applications software for system users and operators.
  • Present GIS system and cartographic mapping elements.
  • Coordinate and execute major data integration and data analysis projects facilitating in-house software products and Geographical Information Systems.
  • Integrate GIS elements with other technology for marketing and web-based communication.
  • Respond to difficult inquiries from end-users, developers, contractors, and other customers regarding GIS requirements.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure the GIS software development and integration accuracy of GIS information is maintained.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of software engineering, including GIS, and a demonstrated ability to independently work on complex assignments.
  • Ensure the use of defined standards and processes that include formal documentation and code reviews for GIS software development.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
  • 8+ years of experience in GIS software development and integration.
