Job Description

At Chesmar Homes, we're looking for a skilled Financial Planning and Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Vice President of Financial Operations by driving key financial forecasting and analytical activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection and review of due diligence materials, including environmental reports, surveys, and title documents.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date files of all land acquisition documentation, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Serve as a liaison between the land acquisition team, internal departments, and external parties such as sellers, brokers, and consultants.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets for land acquisition projects.
  • Track expenses and payments related to land acquisition activities and ensure timely processing of invoices.
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on the status of land acquisition projects.
  • Provide data and insights to support decision-making processes within the land acquisition team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in either Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience responsible for financial analysis in a real estate company.
  • Advanced EXCEL experience and exposure to Essbase and BRIX is highly desirable.
  • Adaptive and resilient interpersonal skills to deal with a broad spectrum of personnel.
  • Accepts accountability and autonomy willingly.
  • Takes ownership and works independently in a culture of performance and execution.
  • The ability to think creatively and improvise to find solutions.
