  • Distribute real-time process budgets and error budgets to system and subsystem components.
  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Establish the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against their requirements in a documented plan.
  • Develop system design solutions that meet system requirements and fulfill functional analyses.
  • Review and provide insights into program and contract work breakdown structures (WBS), work packages, and integrated master plans (IMP).

  • Document all interface designs in a standardized format and maintain interface data in a centralized repository.
  • Evaluate risks to the program, determining the likelihood of occurrence and quantified consequences of failure in accordance with an approved risk management plan.
  • In collaboration with system stakeholders, plan verification efforts for new and untested designs early in the development lifecycle to ensure compliance with established requirements.
  • Create timeline analysis diagrams that illustrate the flow of time-dependent functions.
  • Establish a formal process to proactively manage changes to requirements, considering impacts prior to commitment, securing stakeholder agreement, eliminating ambiguity, ensuring traceability to source requirements, and tracking open actions.
