Job Description

SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) business unit provides Information Technology, Engineering, and Mission solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as cloud, cyber, data, AI/ML, and software.

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to provide System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services in conducting acquisition and technical support activities in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will create and/or adopt innovative IT solutions and development through the use of both government and industry tools/software. They will aggressively work to reduce/eliminate legacy systems by transitioning their key capabilities to modernized tools and technical debt from services.

Responsibilities include:
  • Contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Managing system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture
  • Assisting with the allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel component
  • Coordinating the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
  • Performing analysis of technical alternatives for a project and making preliminary recommendations

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering and a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment. They will also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with government and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; a master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; or a PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.
