Mechanical Maintenance Specialist

As a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist at McDermott, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our vessels. Your primary responsibility will be to assist and perform duties under the direction of our engineers, focusing on the day-to-day maintenance and repair works to the vessel.
Key Responsibilities
* Wear, inspect, and care for required personal protective equipment
* Assist and perform all duties under direction
* Assist the engineers in the day-to-day maintenance and repair works to the vessel
* Be proficient in basic welding, machining, and mechanical work
* Carry out general engine room housekeeping duties
* Be familiar with all company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to your duties
* Refuse unsafe work and carry out all work in accordance with established safety standards and work practices
* Participate in emergency and occupational onboard training, such as the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills, and/or other training as applicable for the function
Essential Qualifications and Education
* Knowledge and experience in the offshore industry with at least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical role
* High school graduate
* Mechanical engineering certificate
* BOSIET Training or equivalent (OPITO approved)
* Fluent in both spoken and written English
* Knowledge of DP vessel operations
* STCW Reg. VI/1 – Basic training
* STCW95 Req. III/4 – Rating forming part of watch in Manned or periodically unmanned engine room
* STCW Reg. VI-6 Security training for seafarers with security duties
* STCW medical fitness certificate
