Job Overview:

The Registered Dietician plays a vital role in providing nutritional guidance and support to patients, ensuring their dietary needs are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments within 24 hours of patient admission.
  2. Design personalized meal plans and weight management goals tailored to individual patient requirements.
  3. Collaborate with the Director of Nutrition Services to safely re-feed patients who are malnourished or medically unstable, working alongside a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions in accordance with company policies.
  5. Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, fostering trust and a collaborative approach to treatment goals.
  6. Create and implement individualized treatment plans that address patients' specific needs and challenges.
  7. Regularly update treatment plans with measurable objectives and discharge planning, tracking patient progress.
  8. Continuously reassess nutritional needs and present findings to the treatment team during weekly meetings.
  9. Engage with referring dietitians to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
  10. Involve parents or guardians in meal planning for adolescent patients, ensuring a smooth transition during discharge.
  11. Provide education to families about eating disorders and nutritional support strategies.
  12. Facilitate group therapy and meal therapy sessions, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
  13. Develop and implement nutrition therapy modules for group sessions.
  14. Assist patients during meal therapy, helping them set goals and manage behaviors.
  15. Lead post-meal discussions to help patients process their experiences and identify coping strategies.
  16. Guide staff in addressing nutritional concerns and communicating meal plans effectively.

Professional Development:

Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional growth by participating in training and supervision meetings. Maintain registration requirements through ongoing education as stipulated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of experience in the field of eating disorders is preferred. A clear driving record is required. Compliance with COVID vaccination protocols is mandatory.
