Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist II to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a key member of our Public Health Division, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and document participants' nutrition risk and prescribe food packages accordingly.
  • Provide one-on-one and group nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support, to meet the identified needs and interests of each participant.
  • Identify the need for individual care plans and implement them for low-risk participants.
  • Refer participants to other health and social services and provide follow-up to referrals.
  • Document nutrition services provided, including referrals and follow-up.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a social, community, health, education, or nutritional field.
  • Two years of experience in a related field, with a focus on nutrition and public health.
  • Valid driver's license and current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in an office setting with extensive computer and phone usage. You may be required to drive and lift up to 50 pounds. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and moderate office noise, heat, cold, and smells is possible.
