Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Charge Entry Specialist to join our team. As a Charge Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry of patient information, ensuring seamless reimbursement and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit and daily balancing of encounters/billable services
  • Ensure accurate insurance demographic entry of patient information
  • Notify and accumulate trends from Physicians and/or office personnel
  • Stay current with CPT codes, modifiers, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory compliance issues
  • Notify RCM Manager of errors and/or compliance issues
  • Timely and accurate posting of submitted encounters

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred 2 years medical billing and charge entry experience in a hospital or physician office setting
  • Certified coder preferred
  • General knowledge of HCPCS and CPT coding
  • Working knowledge of practice management software
  • Working knowledge of allowable/contractual amounts, payment terminology, adjustments, and patient responsibility
