Ambulatory Pharmacy Clinical Specialist

Boston Medical Center seeks a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our Ambulatory Pharmacy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring optimum patient outcomes related to medication use.
Responsibilities:
Provide drug information to patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Integrate into education of pharmacists, residents, and students.
Serve as a resource and drug expert in one of the seven specialty areas.
Strive to increase knowledge through research and writing activities.
Coordinate the acquisition, distribution, and control of drug therapy for patients under the care of the pharmacist, as necessary.
Requirements:
Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and at least five years of pertinent work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and post-graduate training, with at least three years of pertinent work experience, or a Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy with post-graduate training or at least two years of relevant work experience.
Work requires licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Massachusetts and/or eligible for licensure in the state of Massachusetts by the hire date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of medications, their effects, drug interactions, medical procedures, and therapies, diagnosis, and disease states.
Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with hospital staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, colleagues, and others.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks, and meet deadlines.
An organized work style and ability to keep well-written documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional language skills can be a plus.
Must possess self-management skills and require little to no supervision.
Must possess and exhibit process improvement skills and acumen.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with Microsoft programs (i.e., MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and web browsers.
