Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to join our team at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. As a key member of our respiratory therapy department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to children with respiratory conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer nebulized treatments, chest physiotherapy, and oxygen therapy delivery in various modalities to maintain a patent airway.
- Monitor patients on various oxygen support systems and maintain secure and patent resident airway.
- Select, assemble, and check equipment used in respiratory treatment.
- Collect, review, and maintain a resident's medical history and records.
- Perform diagnostic tests and monitor treatments provided to residents.
- Provide resident and family instruction and education in respiratory-related disease processes and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist physicians/nurse practitioner to perform special procedures.
- Administer pulmonary function tests for the assessment of lung function and draw blood to analyze oxygen, carbon dioxide, and PH levels.
- NYS Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist, required.
- BCLS Certification required.
- ACLS Certification required.
- PALS Certification required.
- Ability to work in surroundings with degree of dust, noise, etc. without undue discomfort.
- Ability to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend, and stretch.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and/or co-workers.
