Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of respiratory therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Administer oxygen therapy, bronchodilator therapy, and ventilator management as per physician order, maintaining detailed documentation of patient records.
- Perform arterial puncture to obtain arterial blood gas (ABG) samples for analysis and interpret data to obtain ABG results, report ABG results, and maintain analyzers.
- Conform to all applicable New York State Education Department standards for the practice of Respiratory Therapy.
- Record and process physician's written or verbal orders for all Oxygen and/or Therapeutic Medical Gas Administration.
- Perform cardiopulmonary evaluations and assessments, including evaluation of treatment and/or procedures outcomes, and follow-up action.
- Responsible for the assembly, sequential operation, calibration of equipment and accessories to implement associated therapeutic regimens.
- Respond to all code calls and other types of stat or life-threatening calls, including CPR, airway management, trauma team responses, etc.
- Graduate of an approved RRT program required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in acute care hospital.
- NYS license required.
- BLS certification, intubating skills required.
- Ability to work on weekends.
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to problem-solve using critical thinking required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects/patients with/without reasonable accommodations.
