Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide acute and critical respiratory care to patients of all ages, utilizing sound clinical and technological knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Acquire and interpret physiological parameters to diagnose and treat respiratory diseases.
  • Apply respiratory technology to resolve respiratory issues and improve patient outcomes.
  • Participate in code blue and rapid response teams to provide critical care.
  • Teach patients, family members, students, and other healthcare providers about respiratory care and management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care Science (B.S.R.T.) or equivalent.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Science (A.A.S.) with an Associate or higher degree in any science major.
  • Four years of hospital-related experience, with a minimum of two years in a hospital setting.
  • Critical care experience with all age groups - adult, pediatric, and neonatal.
  • Current New York State Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T) credential from The National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • New York City Fire Department Certificate of Fitness - G71 Supervision of Piped Non Flammable Medical Gas.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • Knowledge of Translaryngeal intubation and arterial puncture.
  • Computer skills and ability to pass department-provided verbal or written examination in respiratory physiology, clinical practices, and equipment.
