Overview

Ascension Via Christi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer to lead our medical staff and drive clinical excellence. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of clinical programs and services that enhance patient satisfaction and quality of care.

Responsibilities
  • Advocate for patients, physicians, and clinical staff, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance clinical quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Lead the development of clinical programs and services, including quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and leadership to develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines that promote clinical excellence.
  • Oversee the credentialing and privileging process for medical staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial targets, and human resources for the medical staff.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to medical staff, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree required.
  • 10 years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a minimum of 5 years in a clinical setting.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing clinical programs and services.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate medical staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Catholic healthcare organization or a similar values-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards for healthcare organizations.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic plans to improve clinical quality and patient safety.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare technology systems.
