Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor, Patient Access Services to join our team at Northwell Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising personnel responsible for the daily operations as they relate to Hospital access services departments/programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Promote department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
    • Lead the activities of assigned Patient Access team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
    • Supervise the department's day-to-day operations as they relate to Hospital billing, registration, admitting, and office management, as applicable.
  • Staff Supervision and Development
    • Supervise, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
    • Analyze, recommend, implement, and monitor approved work-flow changes; process payroll maintaining employee records and work schedules while ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
    • Monitor the inpatient and outpatient registrations for quality assurance.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations as they pertain to completion and filing of death certificates and termination certificates.
  • Customer Service and Communication
    • Respond to concerns of patients, families, physicians, and staff.
    • Recommends procedural and system changes to improve operational quality and efficiency; actively participates in process improvement projects.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
