About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Transaction Executive to join our team at Barclays. As a key member of our Strategic Transaction Group, you will be responsible for structuring, executing, and managing complex transactions and initiatives that provide material tax and/or capital benefits to the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Identification and Development: Identify new strategic opportunities for the organization and develop complex transactions/solutions to capture potential tax and/or capital benefits.
  • Transaction Management: Develop, implement, and manage all aspects of transactions, including robust controls, and engage with counterparties, external counsel, and external accountancy firms.
  • Deal Modeling and Documentation: Develop and maintain deal models that outline the detailed terms of complex financial instruments, cash flows, accounting, tax, and economic benefits associated with a transaction.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior stakeholders across the organization and take transactions through a comprehensive set of governance, including tax approvals, transaction approvals, board approvals, and Exco approvals.
  • Risk Management and Governance: Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda, and demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience with structured finance transactions, including experience crafting detailed presentations and papers for senior consumption.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, numerically minded, and understanding of laws, rules, and regulations such as IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Licenses: Series 7, 63, and SIE licenses are highly valued.
