Heavy Equipment Technician

About the Role
At US Foods, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy equipment, ensuring they are in top working condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and other heavy machinery
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake replacements
- Document all work performed, including repair orders and parts used
- Provide exceptional customer service to our drivers and other stakeholders
Requirements
- 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or 2 years of experience with refrigeration certification
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and service guides
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of $26.00 per hour, as well as a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401K. Additionally, eligible new hires will receive a $5,000 retention bonus.
Working Hours and Schedule
This is a Sunday-Friday position, with hours from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. You must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and be available to work overtime when needed.
