Overview

US Foods, Inc. is a leading food distributor with a culture of promoting from within and providing excellent training programs. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fleet road equipment.

Estimated Salary: $26.00 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fleet road equipment including diesel trucks and trailers. You will also be responsible for documenting repairs, completing maintenance logs, and performing emergency road services as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
  3. Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  4. Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  5. Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
  7. Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
  8. Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
  9. Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of commercial Diesel mechanic or reefer experience.
  • 2 years of Diesel Mechanic exp with TK or Refrigeration certification.
