Regional Logistics Operations Leader - Shelter PBS North America

The North America Performance Building Solutions Logistics Operations Leader is accountable for assessing the efficiency of logistics resources and activities concerning service, cost, and investment, while developing and implementing suitable strategies to achieve performance objectives. This position will coordinate logistics enhancement initiatives across all facets of the Source-Plan-Make-Deliver-Return spectrum for PBS logistics operations, driving standardization, simplification, and agility throughout the logistics chain. The Logistics Operations Leader is expected to collaborate closely with relevant manufacturing leadership to ensure that effectiveness, efficiency, and costs are duly considered in planning and executing the comprehensive logistics strategy. The Regional Logistics Operations Leader will be responsible for providing leadership to the logistics organization to facilitate the execution of the overall global business plans and strategies. This role also collaborates with procurement to maintain a balance of inventory, supply, and raw material costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates, integrates, and implements the logistics strategy and plan in alignment with business and functional strategies, ensuring customer needs are met through integrated processes, systems, and technology while balancing inventory, service levels, and overall costs.
  • Lead and mentor the logistics scheduling and planning team to achieve business objectives.
  • Enhance people and product productivity through development and optimization.
  • Establish logistics performance targets and assess actual performance in support of business and functional strategies.
  • Balance risks associated with logistics and current business plans, providing options and contingencies to mitigate risks.
  • Represent logistics capabilities for short and mid-term planning horizons.
  • Identify necessary models for logistics optimization and recommend actions to the Business team.
  • Oversee the activities, performance, development, and capabilities of the Logistics Professionals required to support logistics and associated activities.
  • Execute required SOX controls and establish remediation plans for any ineffective controls.
  • Lead integration and cross-functional communication of logistics plans, collaborating with Global Logistics Leader, Business Leadership, Sourcing, Transportation, Manufacturing, Regional Sales & Marketing/Demand, Customer Service, etc.
  • Define, prioritize, and manage Lean/Six Sigma project initiatives aimed at logistics improvement.
  • Build and ensure capability and leverage in logistics processes and best practices across all businesses and functions globally.
  • Manage raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods distribution and inventory plans.
  • Collaborate with the Demand Manager and Customer Service to define and communicate order acceptance and handling policies that balance customer requirements with logistics capabilities.
  • Act as a key leader in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, leading relevant portions of the monthly Supply Review.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for safety stock, lead time, MTO/MTS strategies, consignment stock, schedule changes, and necessary approvals.
  • Ensure customer delivery requirements are met within policies/procedures and comply with regulatory and export control standards.
  • Maintain the integrity of data in applicable systems.
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or Engineering required.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience with the ability to guide both direct and indirect team members required.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analytical skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills required.
  • Familiarity with ERP planning systems preferred (SAP, APO).
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with the ability to analyze data and communicate insights effectively.
  • ASCM Certification, CSCP or CPIM strongly preferred (or to be obtained within 24 months).
  • Continuous improvement methodology certification preferred (Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing).
