Position Overview:
The Social/Lifestyle Director at FirstService Residential is tasked with the creation, organization, and management of all adult recreational activities within the community. This role is essential in fostering a vibrant and engaging social atmosphere for residents.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Plan and execute a variety of resident activities, both on-site and off-site, including themed events, holiday gatherings, movie nights, and fitness programs.
2. Conduct surveys to gauge resident interests and preferences for activities.
3. Oversee the establishment and growth of clubs that align with community interests.
4. Track participation in social and recreational programs.
5. Manage logistics for special events, ensuring high levels of engagement.
6. Coordinate catering services for events and oversee decorations and promotional materials.
7. Handle technical aspects of clubhouse activities, including sound and lighting.
8. Facilitate club meetings and manage room reservations.
9. Create and maintain a community calendar of events.
10. Supervise the production of in-house newsletters and publications.
11. Manage ticket sales and promotional displays for events.
12. Maintain bulletin boards with current information.
13. Serve as the host for shows and community events.
14. Order supplies necessary for activities and events.
15. Monitor the activity budget to ensure financial compliance.
16. Document community events through photography.
17. Organize special theme days and celebrations throughout the year.
18. Process invoices and prepare financial reports.
19. Collaborate with management to develop the annual budget.


Qualifications:


1. An associate degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Proven background in event planning and community engagement.
4. Strong organizational and administrative skills.
5. Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills.


Physical Requirements:


1. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
2. Capable of standing, walking, and climbing as needed.
3. Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as required.


Supervisory Role:
Will oversee associates involved in community activities.
